Temilola brought me into her clique and that was were I met Lucid Ademade Bakare, another General Overseer’s daughter. She was different, she joined us at age 15 while I was already 17.
My parents then had become public figures, having their own ministry same as Lucy (so I chose to call her).
Lucy was easy going, innocent and upright until Temilola made her school daughter, the new technique we initiated then, we either make you friends or school son/daughter depending on your class. She was a bookworm, cultured but sought her parent’s attention even till now and would do anything to be in their favour as she was the third born and first daughter out of five children yet felt and lived unloved.
Soon Temilola gave her a new love, how I wish….
I fell in love with Lucy, we buried our past and promised to let go but I never did, oh Korewa!
He snapped out of his thoughts, as his phone rang!
Hello Kore, where are you? I’m done, whatsup?
Oh…… Charis…. Uhmmn……. Sorry, I… I… I was caught up in something
That’s alright, if you’re not chanced, we could do it another time
No, give me 5 minutes, I’d be with you.
You sure? I can wait, rather still should I come to your office? At least I’d know where you work….
Kore smiled…. I’ll be with you shortly, your Excellency.[they both laughed]
Alright, I’m waiting….
I’d be there, shortly uhnnn…
Gotcha!….
She cuts the line…..

I saw Jesus, Chike…
(Chief rarely calls Josh ‘Chike’ only during his teenage years when he would ask a question and if Chief couldn’t find an answer, he would say, “Chike when you grow up you’d understand biko don’t kill me with all this your questions”).
I saw him smiling at me and calling for me. I stepped forward to meet him but there was a pit between us all of a sudden, the more I tried to jump, the more the pit got wider, I cried, I cried so much Josh because I couldn’t get through to him. Chief kept narrating his vision with tears. Then I saw you too, you were having a small cross with you, but the moment you dropped it, it became a long and wide bridge enough for many to cross to Jesus and when I stepped on it, I woke up.
Chike, but this cross is nothing compared to what I have known, seen or learnt so far even in the church. Though I was a church goer, a giver, even with titles but never knew him this way, see this love I’ve seen now I can’t let go Chike. Tell me more……. I’m ready to know this Jesus… Chief Azikwe sobs staring into Josh eyes intently.
The doctor and two other nurses also knelt down beside Josh immediately and sought to be prayed for.
We want to know this Jesus too, they knelt there sobbing, the room was filled with emotions all over and the Spirit of God was evidently not just in the room but all over the hospital…
Josh prayed for them all including his mother who was already on her kneels sobbing when Chief was narrating his experience.
Josh then encouraged them with many words. Chief smiled and passed on in silence right before them.
“This is your reward for obedience in reaching out to Lucy, – granting your request over your Father and the twins you asked for, though I would have given you more than if you asked and this is to show you that as long as you obey my instructions, even the dead will rise at your command”.
Josh heard the whispers behind him clearly and knelt beside his father’s bed, kissed his forehead and gave way for the doctors to do their Job.
The silence that filled the air was so thick that it felt like host of angels visited St.John’s hospital on this fateful day.
