One Last Pop Episode 4

The crisis were over, Charis had travelled immediately that Friday evening after Josh had come to have lunch with the whole family bringing Simi along.

His parents were so happy when they heard the whole story, the mother was convinced right there at the dining and gave her life to Christ while their Dad, Chief Azikwe asked for some more time to think about it, yet embraced Simi as part of the family.

Josh became more fervent in fellowships and things of God. He started praying for Lucy his neighbor rather than reporting her to the husband, every night before going to bed as Simi had counseled him to.

They would pray for Lucy, pray for Josh’s Dad to be convinced, pray for Nigeria and every other prayers that came to mind. Sometimes when they become speechless of what to pray about, they will both laugh at each other and in turn pray for themselves but prayed in tongues more.

Josh did not get his job back and still did not take over his father’s business as they agreed he should do whatever he desires and would support him surely.

Joshua ventured into Fish farming with the little savings he had left and his parent’s support. He became a top notch in the field as he also had many professional hands working with him and every single client that came around he never hesitated to share a pound of his life with them, telling them about his dark days and his conversion.

And in the space of three years, he wrote a book titled “One Last Pop” and got married to Simi who is now a Barrister.

Kore had thought getting married would put an end to his frivolities.

He had promised his “Deeper Life” wife, as he fondly call her for her consistent vigils before they got married, a new leaf and they had both hidden their skeletons from their Pastors and Families.

They both loved each other and promised to keep their secrets to themselves, as they were both Pastor’s children and wouldn’t want to bring shame to their families/parents for they were public figures.

But after he had resumed his business trip he had opened up his playbook gallivanting across borders, sampling innocent and ignorant ladies; Tessy in Ghana, Claire in Capetown, Bella in Kenya and Beauty in Southampton, to mention a few as he brags to his friends.

Now presently in London he had caught sight of a Lady, Charis at a medical summit he attended.

Representing his MD to deliver a speech on “Advanced Engineering in the Medical world for Swift Analysis and Instant Results”, with about 5000 in Attendance including an handful of African students.

Lucy never forgave herself even after committing adultery with the security guard but she had no one to talk to.

She couldn’t tell her “Always Perfect Parents” and not even her husband she felt she had betrayed after the promise they both made to each other.

Irregular three years, without her husband’s attention, presence or care, she had prayed but was haunted by her actions and most especially aborting the baby.
