They had gone on a lunch break after the Q/A Session, which Charis had a played a major role in the conversations which led to more recognitions and ovations for the African attendees.

As they were having the buffet, the African guest speaker, who happens to be a Nigerian just as her, walked up to her

You don’t take alcohol, do you? He smiled at her,

Well I used to but not anymore, I’ll just go for the beverage. she smiled back.

I never got to know your name, I’m Korewa Albert but you can call me ‘Kore’.

Oh, great I’m Charis and I’m a Christian, I think that’s enough, they both laughed at each other.

After exchanging pleasantries, seated at the lounge, they got talking about the just concluded sessions. Moved to the adventures and expectations of the health sector especially in Africa, London’s atmosphere and scenery.

Afterwards, politics and Religion in Africa, Nigeria especially.

After the 30minutes break expired, the summit continued for about another 2-hours but Charis had left before it ended to attend an intercessory fellowship she co-started at the hospital where she is now a Junior Doctor.

Josh and Simi had tried all they could do medically for conception without a result with relentless prayers, yet these two love birds never gave up on their quest of having twins.

Mom would say, “let’s still pray for a baby, twins can come later”.

She had even brought up the idea of adoption, “Let’s adopt an infant, both of you should travel out for a while, people won’t know”.

At another time she spoke of IVF

“That was the same thing my friend’s daughter did and they’re all doing fine today, it’s no sin”.

And many other ideas she had come up with secretly to either her Son or Simi at separate intervals. She would say, As a mother she was seeking the best for her Son even during their once in a month Family prayers and they all would laugh yet their request and trust in God never changed.

The doctor had told them there was nothing wrong with them yet years passed by without a result. Charis had informed them she would include them in their special intercessory prayers at her hospital fellowship.

she never stopped praying for them and encouraging them as they were all praying for their Dad too, Chief Azikwe too who has been diagnosed with first stage cancer of the lungs.

Kore had developed a likening for Charis and opened up his playbook to mark her as his next game.

Many thoughts and ideas crossed his mind as the session went on and he had spotted Charis leaving the premises.

He never got to collect her contact but remembered vividly her workplace

through the ID tag on her neck while they were chatting.

Despite the amount already spent, Chief Azikwe was not getting any better, they were always following him to the hospital for his chemotherapy

 (Chemotherapy – often abbreviated to chemo and sometimes CTX or CTx, is a type of cancer treatment that uses one or more anti-cancer drugs as part of a standardized chemotherapy regimen).

So they never even had time to worry about pregnancy.

Josh had handed over his business to his friend Mide who has also left his work and joined him in the fish farming which had now expanded to different regions.
