| Pains cannot be sweet, but mine was. Ironic right, I know. This is a story of a young girl who became a strong woman at an early age. I know you must be confused but let’s flow together. Her name is Amanda, Amanda was a glowing child, she literally lights up the room whenever Her presence was felt. She Was an amazing child and every girl child will dream to be in her shoe because she was surrounded by people who loves and cares for her. She had everything she ever needed but she was lost in her own world, she didn’t know who she was, Amanda didn’t grow up with her mother, she didn’t know how to deal with girls stuff, because she was the only girl in the midst of boys, she becomes sadder whenever her friends talk about their relationship with their mother and she doesn’t even how her mother looks like, all she grew up knowing is that her mom is alive somewhere and she didn’t really know what happened between her parents, even though she learnt that they were good lovers in their time, so what could have gone wrong?. Her dad won’t allow Amanda talk or mention her mom’s name without him changing the conversation instantly, he made them withdraw from their mother. Despite this thought running through her mind, she still found peace with her twin brother and elder brother by her side, protecting and guiding her in the way they can, she decided to grow up pretty fast in order to have a voice for herself but something happened, Amanda was exposed to adult films by her elder brother, she was exposed to things beyond her age, her brother would come at night and touch her, she was scared and confused, because she didn’t know if it was wrong or right, she couldn’t speak up for her because who will believe her, she became voiceless, the bright Amanda became gloomy, she said was going through stuff that couldn’t be discussed to an adult, the act went on for years under the nose of her father without their knowledge, she just kept to her and became stubborn to her stepmoms, she had a lot of stepmoms. When she was 13, her dad came back home and accused her of sleeping around for money, even with the tears in her eyes, her dad wasn’t convinced, he stopped her from going to school. She became more and more sadder, she lost the trust of her father and her elder brother, she was all alone. She tried so hard to move pass the pain, then her uncle came to stay with them, she was lying on the couch one night when he put his stuff in her mouth, telling her to be quiet, she became quiet and allowed him do his thing. He continue coming back for more, she was a sex toy to both her brother and her uncle, until one night when the brother got high and wanted to do it again, she fought her way away and roar at him, from that moment she got her freedom but was she really free. Even though the incident has happened and stopped, she still has traumas, she was scared of being around men, if all the trusted men in her life can fail, what more of people outside. She couldn’t stay in relationship because they all want to be intimate which scares her to a default, her brother was making live more difficult for her, bullying her in way he can, says he’s protecting her from the world, yet the world didn’t hurt but he did. Her constantly accuse her of prostitution, meanwhile he’s the one that’s involved in the act, he carry’s girls of Amanda age and wasn’t ashamed to say it or be seen around them. She was working in a firm as a personal assistant to the manager, the position was her dream job, but her boss was making a move on her, he would touch her at every opportunity he has, he says he wants to help her heal but she must allow him touch her anyhow he likes because he was attracted to her, she cries her eyes out, she was in her dream job but not happy and comfortable. She asked her twin brother to pray with her about it, which they did, because he was the only in her life that she trusted, he didn’t criticize her but volunteering to help her by praying and fasting with her. Her pains became sweet when she had dreams of helping people like her, she has a dream of becoming an activist or philanthropist whichever one you would call it. Amanda found peace despite all she was going through in her life with her twin brother by her side and her mom gone, she was able to live through the pain because it is a blessing. |
